Homework

Yesterday I sent home the first weeks worth of homework for the year. I am impressed there are so many excited children about doing their homework. Lets hope they still feel the same in year 7!

Homework should not take more than 10-15 minutes per night. The most important thing is that they get into a routine which will set them up for the future. You should have with you:

  1. Communication Book
  2. Orange Homework book (please cover)
  3. Green Reading log to record home reading in
  4. A home reading book at their INDEPENDENT level. It it the STUDENT's responsibility to change this.

If you have at home the blue fabric folder, this is a great place for your child to keep their things safe in. If not, you can get them from the office or alternatively a zip up folder/large pencil case from office works (I think they are roughly $5 each) or a study plastic folder works well. This just avoids wet ruined books when the squished banana or upside down open drink bottle is left in the bottom of a school bag.

Homework is due on Friday and there will be an in class spelling test on Friday too. If you have too much on over the week and would prefer to have your child do their homework over the weekend please contact me (I have already had this enquiry) I will send the following weeks homework home on Friday. Please ensure homework books are at school on FRIDAYS even if homework is incomplete so I can put in homework for the following week over the weekend. I

f your child is unable to complete their homework for whatever reason, there will not be in trouble or receive any form of punishment. Instead completed homework will be rewarded with a Dojo point.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Head Lice

Hi everyone. Just a quick note that there are head lice going around. Please check your children's hair and deal with any eggs and/or lice accordingly. You will need to do a follow up treatment in a few days time. Here is a good website for additional information.
